Mission
The WBID creates an environment where business and government can work together to promote opportunities, enhance the shoppers experience, and preserve the cultural, historic, tourist and civic interests of the district.
Downtown Pride
Washington Borough takes great pride in its downtown and is always seeking ways to improve the streetscape. Upgrades have included extra-wide pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, antique-style town clock and complementing street lights, a pocket park with performance space, and plenty of convenient parking. The Borough is home to more than a dozen free and low-cost annual festivals and events each year. Well-attended by area residents, these events also attract more than 15,000 visitors annually.
What is the BID:
The Washington Business Improvement District (BID) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) formed as a legal self-governing body. Its purpose is to promote and support businesses within the borough through advertising, social media, events, festivals, downtown improvement projects and more!
Who can be Member of the BID
Any brick and mortar business operating out of a commercial property within the limits of the Borough of Washington are automatically a member of the BID. Unfortunately, mobile businesses and home based businesses are not eligible for BID membership.
